Our Story
Las Mañanitas Community Advocates was founded in 2021 by mother-daughter duo Adi Fernandez-Dobbins and Eve Fernandez, both originally from Michoacán, Mexico. Inspired by their heritage and a shared desire to uplift others, they brought their values of hard work, community, and the will to prosper to North Platte, Nebraska.
Today, Las Mañanitas focuses on five core areas: arts, entrepreneurship, food security, youth empowerment, and community development. From hosting welcoming community dinners and offering mentorship to youth, to supporting entrepreneurs with a licensed commercial kitchen and business tools, our programs are designed to create lasting impact.
We celebrate local culture and leadership through initiatives like the Queen and Princess Program and provide educational opportunities through farm-to-table workshops and creative arts.
Currently, we’re in the early stages of transforming a three-acre parcel of land into a bold, three-phase project: starting with a hydroponic greenhouse, followed by a community center, and ultimately a business incubator that will provide affordable commercial space and shared resources for aspiring entrepreneurs.
At our core, we believe that strong communities grow from the ground up—with connection, opportunity, and care.
